About the Author

Chris King

Chris King has been working in the Hospitality Industry for 15 years in various roles. In 2008 Chris was given the task of heading up a new division at Accor called Information Services. This group’s role is to ‘Support The Business to make Fact-Based Decisions’ and is responsible for Data and Information, separated from Information Technology.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science, Postgraduate Diploma of Commerce and a Masters of Business Administration.

Accor is one of the largest hotel management companies in the world, with over 4,000 hotels in 90 countries across the globe. In the Asia Pacific region Accor operates over 300 hotels, including the brands: Sofitel, Pullman, Novotel, Mercure, Ibis, All Seasons, Formule 1

Dr Tony O'Brien, is a Senior Lecturer at Sheffield Business School as Sheffield Hallam University focussing upon Finance, Accounting and Business Systems. He previously worked for over forty years as an accountant engaged in business finance, general management, IT and the management and implementation of Information Systems. He has worked for a number of large organisations including Shell, British Gypsum, British Oxygen, Great Universal Stores and Remploy. He is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) and holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Nottingham Business School and an MBA from Leeds Business School.
